The Enstrom helicopter reportedly crashed during flight instruction, according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson.
The helicopter's engine lost power, and they attempted to land in an open field. The helicopter missed the field by about 100 yards and instead crashed into a group of trees.
Two people were on board, including a female flight instructor and a man who is her student, according to Denton police.
The flight instructor was taken to a nearby hospital with a broken arm, while the student was taken to another hospital for lower back problems. Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
The FAA is investigating.
