Two children nearly drown at Lake Waxahachie
Two children were pulled from Lake Waxahachie Saturday afternoon.
Waxahachie Police received a call around 2:30 p.m. reporting that a 3-year-old and 5-year-old were under water and they couldn't find them.
Crews immediately dispatched. Quickly the 5 year old was pulled from the water and just before rescuers arrived the 3 year old was also located.
Police say the 5 year old child was walking around when they arrived. The 3 year old child was under water for a longer period of time and was unconscious. CPR was administered and the child was taken to Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie in critical condition. The 3 year old is reportedly breathing.
It is unclear what happened, but police think it is likely an accident.
