Two children killed in South Dallas crash

A speeding driver on wet roads in Dallas crashed into a family's car, killing two children on Friday afternoon.

The driver who caused the crash on Hwy. 175 is in custody.

A 12 or 13-year-old boy was killed, along with a 13-month-old.

Investigators say an SUV traveling at a high rate of speed hit the car the children were in from behind, causing the wreck.

There were five people inside the car that was hit, including a father, mother and three children. The 12 or 13-year-old boy died on impact, and the infant died later at a nearby hospital.

The mother and a third child were also taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. They’re expected to be OK.

The father was treated at the scene.

The driver of the SUV is in custody.

Investigators say charges are pending against Walker in relation to Friday’s crash.
