Tornado watch issued Friday night for North Texas

A Tornado Watch has been issued for a large part of North Texas Friday night.

The watch goes until midnight and includes Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton counties.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for Dallas, Tarrant, Rockwall and Collin counties until 10:45 p.m.

The biggest threat with the storms will be damaging wind gusts up to 65 miles per hour and up to golf ball-sized hail, but an isolated threat will be possible mainly north and northeast.

Once the rain clears out overnight, there will be clear conditions into Saturday and a fair amount of sunshine for the weekend with comfortable temperatures topping off in the upper 60s
