Threat forces Dallas school to cancel after-school activities for the week

A phone threat against a Dallas public school is being taken seriously.

The Barack Obama Leadership Academy in Oak Cliff was put on lockdown Tuesday and all after school programs were canceled for the rest of the week.

The district sent a letter home to parents that says someone called in the terroristic threat, but no specific details were given.

“As the threat was taken seriously’ we contacted our Dallas ISD Police Department and Executive Director, Mr. Adrian Luna to secure additional security for the campus. Interior lockdown procedures were followed and everyone was safe,” the letter says.

It also says students will be guided to their buses and cars after dismissal for rest of the week.
