Two people are dead, and four schools were put on lockdown, as law enforcement rushed to contain an active shooter situation in Katy Wednesday morning.

It happened at the Knight Transportation company on Franz near Mason at about 8:45 am. Harris County Sheriff's Department said the shooter was fired employee, Marion Guy Williams, 65, who came back for revenge.

"One of the employees stated he said 'Y'all ruined my life,'" HCSO's Ralph Gonzales told media at a press briefing.

Gonzales says Williams had been fired from the business weeks ago, but returned when his severance payments ran out. He arrived in a white Ford pickup armed with a pistol and a shotgun.

"He parked in front. Walked in the front door," Gonzales said. "We understand he fired one round through the entry, an area where the drivers dine and have coffee. One individual I spoke with said he did pass him and continue through the building as though he was looking in particular for somebody."

That someone was a supervisor, whom family members have identified as Mike Dawid, who died at the scene. A family member told Fox26 Dawid had worked at Knight Transportation several years.

A deputy hurt his knee rushing into the building, and two employees were injured slightly by flying debris, but no one else was shot until Williams turned his gun on himself.

The active shooter call at 8:45 a.m. quickly impacted Morton Ranch High school which is right across the street from Knight Transportation.

"We were going to 2nd period and then the principal started yelling "'Lockdown! Lockdown!'" said Mario Juarez, a student at Morton Ranch High School . "So everybody just starts running to the classrooms."

Morton Ranch H.S. was the closest of the 4 schools locked down until the situation was controlled.

"Honestly, I was a little nervous because we didn't know what was going on," said student Luis Ruiz. "We thought it was in the school."

"It was just a really scary moment for everyone," Juarez stated.

Deputies say the students were never in harms way, but students were worried about parents who worked where the shooting took place.

According a family member of the victim, Dawid was in his 30's, a husband, and father of a 2-year-old child.  A chaplain who counseled some of the Knight Transportation employees said the supervisor was well liked and respected, and that the company's employees are very shaken up.

"Absolutely distraught," said Gregory Ballard, a chaplain at Methodist West Hospital. "Coming to work everyday is a routine kind of thing, and none of us anticipate anything like this happening."

The Harris County Sheriff's office says that Williams had a previous charge from 1996 for assault.
