Arrest in decapitated man case

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office has announced an arrest in the decapitation death of 24-year-old Jubal Dee Alexander. His body was found on May 3 in near Angleton.

One witness who spoke with investigators on May 24 told them that Zachary Lyn Foyt, 24, had killed Alexander. The follow-up investigation determined that Foyt had moved from Brazoria County and was living in Lakewood, Colorado. A team of BCSO investigators traveled to the Colo. town and conducted interviews with Foyt.

After meeting with Foyt and other witnesses in Brazoria County, deputies arrested Foyt. Investigators are trying to determine the motive for the Alexander's death.

Alexander's decapitated body was found inside his truck beneath the Austin Bayou Bridge near Angleton. The Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office has not determined a cause of death for Alexander, while further forensic analysis is pending with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. He was working as a contractor at the Ineos facility on FM 2004 and had been living out of his truck in order to save money.

Investigators are also trying to determine if Alexander and Foyt knew one another. Foyt remains in the Jefferson County jail in Colo. and awaits extradition to Texas.  His bail has been set at $5 million.

The United States Marshal's Service Southern District of Texas, Lakewood Police Department in Colo. and the Brazoria County District Attorney's Office assisted BCSO in its investigation.
