Valedictorian attacked by trolls after proclaiming on Twitter she is 'undocumented'

An Austin, Texas high school valedictorian decided to remove herself from social media after a tweet she posted proclaiming she was “undocumented” went viral, and pro-Trump trolls went on the attack.

Mayte Lara Ibarra tweeted:

“Valedictorian, 4.5GPA, full tuition paid for at UT, 13 cords/medals, nice legs, oh and I’m undocumented.” Her tweet included several graduation photos and a Mexican flag emoji.

Within minutes, the Crockett High School graduate’s Twitter stream was bombarded with racist rants, many ordering the young woman to “go back,” using the hashtag #TrumpTrain and #Trump2016.

Ibarra deleted her Twitter account, changed the name on her Facebook page and switched its profile picture to a black square.
