DALLAS - Dallas police arrested a teenager after a string of overnight burglaries.
The 17-year-old suspect tried to take the safe at the Cricket Wireless store on South Buckner Boulevard early Tuesday morning.
Police said he couldn’t get to the money, but did take cellphones. Officers then spotted him running from the store.
He couldn’t outrun a police helicopter and was quickly taken into custody
The suspect, identified as Joshua Montoya, has a criminal history. He is now facing charges for burglary of a building and evading arrest.
Dallas police are also hoping to connect him to burglaries at several other businesses in the area.
