TCU fans welcome special little girl to game

It was a touching moment Thursday night as TCU fans welcomed a special little girl from Iowa.

The girl, 7-year-old Abby Faber was invited to the game and even got her own TCU Jersey.

She became an overnight celebrity after a picture went viral nearly two weeks ago.

Faber, who suffers from cerebral palsy, was the honorary game captain Oct. 17, when Iowa State hosted the Horned Frogs.

TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin stopped, knelt down and had a brief chat with the girl. A picture of their interaction landed her in the hearts of TCU fans and left Iowa State fans praising Boykin.

It even sparked a fundraising effort that raised more than $30,000, largely from TCU fans.

Faber said the attention makes her feel like a celebrity, and the best part of her Thursday seemed to be the private jet that brought her family to Fort Worth.

"I got to ride on a plane,” she said.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram photographer Paul Moseley will never forget the moment he snapped the photo of Faber.

He himself was moved enough by Faber’s story that he crafted a framed gift to her.
