Suspicious object prompts Arlington Wal-Mart evacuation

ARLINGTON, Texas - A Wal-Mart store in Arlington was evacuated Thursday morning because of a suspicious object.

It happened around noon at the store on Little Road and Highway 287. Police said something suspicious was spotted in a trash can in front of the store’s main entrance.

Everyone was moved away from the building and a robot was brought in to check it out. The object ended up being something harmless and the store was reopened around 1 p.m.

Police said the building was evacuated out of an abundance of caution.
