Suspects drive into Garland gun store

Police are searching for three attempted gun thieves who backed up a stolen SUV into the front of a Garland gun store.

The crash happened at the B&S Gun Store on off of Broadway Boulevard Tuesday around 3 a.m.

Surveillance video shows the stolen Nissan Pathfinder back up to ram the store’s barrier several times, not realizing it’s a steel pole covered with stone.

“I mean the driver must’ve gotten some serious whiplash,” store owner Paul Peddle said.

After the SUV gets stuck, the videos shows a suspect get out and try to push the truck off the poll when they can’t figure out what to do. The suspects then run away after a security guard approached them.

The suspects robbed a delivery driver at gunpoint about half a block away, but left running to a nearby neighborhood when they heard police coming.

“You know thank God we didn’t have anything happen to us,” said Peddle. “We're built tough here at B&S guns, and we're thankful that we're open for business.”

Garland police going over the stolen SUV hoping for some fingerprints and comparing notes in other places where guns have been stolen recently.
