Suspect injured in Fort Worth officer-involved shooting

A man was shot by SWAT officers in east Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police said their officers tried to serve a search warrant Wednesday afternoon in the 6000 block of Tallie Road.

A man at the home pointed a gun at the officers. Officers shot him three times, police said.

Police said one bullet grazed the man's head and two bullets grazed his shoulder. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. No officers were hurt.

The incident shook up the neighborhood.

“We heard the big two sonic booms. I’m assuming that they was going in to try to see what was going on to get the guys out of there. It was like maybe 20 police officers coming down Tallie Road to come to see what was going on. It was very, very quick what happened,” said Tyron Johnson, who lives nearby. “After that they pretty much cordoned everything off from that point on.”

The officers who were involved in the shooting will be questioned during a routine internal investigation.
