Arlington police think they’ve found the two thieves who went on a selfie spree with stolen cellphones.

According to investigators, the pair took three cellphones from a vehicle that was parked outside of an apartment complex on Polk Drive last month.

They started taking pictures with the stolen phones, but didn’t realize one phone had cloud storage turned on. The images were automatically sent straight to the victim’s home computer.

The Arlington Police Department got several tips about the suspects after posting their pictures on social media. Police were able to identify the man and woman in the photos

“We are really thankful for our followers because after posting this in just a couple of hours we had over 140 shares and several tips that led to the identification of the suspects,” said Vanessa Harrison, a spokeswoman for the department.

Police are not yet releasing the suspects’ names because investigators still want to question them and conduct photo lineups.
