Samaritan's Feet gives away shoes and socks to children in need

Volunteers came  together to provide 2,000 Dallas children with new socks and shoes Saturday morning.

Several North Texas churches partnered with Samaritan's Feet, an initiative to give kids across the country a new pair of shoes. Impact Church DFW coordinated efforts to get the shoes and recruit 200 volunteers. The volunteers wash the children's feet and talk to the kids about their hopes and dreams before giving them the new socks and shoes.

Samaritan's Feet was founded by Manny Ohonme, who received his first pair of shoes at the age of nine when he lived in Nigeria. The event changed his life and lead him to play college basketball in America. His organization now serves more than 300 cities in the U.S., including Dallas.
