DALLAS - Flares that were left on the road after an early morning crash caused more crashes on the Central Expressway in Dallas Friday.
The first crash happened just before 4 a.m. on the northbound side of the highway near Walnut Hill Lane. Police said a suspected drunken driver was arrested and one person from a second car was taken to the hospital.
After rescuers had cleared the scene they reportedly left behind some road flares. The flares prompted a chain-reaction crash in the same spot that involved four vehicles.
No one was hurt in the second crash but all northbound lanes of the highway had to be shut down for a few hours.
