A huge police presence was needed in Downtown Dallas Sunday night after a popup concert was announced at the House of Blues.

Rapper J. Cole announced on twitter at 2:00 p.m. that he'd be performing at the House of Blues in Dallas for $1. Word spread quickly and when it came time to open the doors, thousands of people had shown up.

By 6:00 p.m. House of Blues was at capacity and telling the remaining thousands of people in line that they could not come in.

Dallas Police had dozens of officers on the scene for what they called a "large crowd disturbance". Dallas Fire and Rescue also was on the scene to help disperse the large crowd.

Police closed down N. Lamar at Houston as well as N. Lamar at Victory for over an hour in the process.

Some people that were turned away said they'd see the J. Cole concert when he's back here in August.

No arrests or major issues have been reported.
