Police make arrest in connection to North Dallas woman's slaying

Dallas police have made an arrest in the slaying of a mother in far North Dallas.

Ezekiel Cox, 22, has been arrested in connection the death of 50-year-old Robin Bavousett, police said Wednesday night.

Bavousett was found dead at her apartment in the 17700 block of Vail Street around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police won't say how Cox ended up at Bavousett's apartment. He was arrested after investigators responded to a report of a man sleeping in a vehicle.

Eric Brinkley lived next door to Bavousett and said he never saw any visitors at her apartment.

"She was a sweetheart," said Brinkley. "She was a real nice lady, had a little dog, her little companion that she walked around with all the time…took to the store with her..."

Bavousett graduated from high school in Greenville and attended Texas A&M University-Commerce.
