Police looking for suspect who shot Dallas actor

DALLAS - The man randomly shot after leaving a Dallas bar last week shared an amazing survival story but is still confused about why he was targeted.

Dallas police released a sketch of the man they believe shot an actor and community theater founder in Deep Ellum on January 30.

Matthew Posey opened the Ochre Theater near Fair Park. He’s also held minor roles in movies including No Country for Old Men, The Magnificent Seven and Mr. Brooks.

Posey was shot in the face as he was leaving the Cold Beer Company. He said he was getting into his truck when someone came up to him.

Posey says the shooter didn't say anything or take anything. He just started shooting with a 9-millimeter handgun.

“He finally got me through the cheek, lacerated my tongue, blew my teeth out and came out through the other side,” he said.

The description of the gunman is vague. Police say he took off in a silver four-door car and was driven by someone else.

“There was absolutely nothing I could do. It happened so fast. There was no reaction time other than just what I did,” Pose said. “I hope they get the guy. I think that's very important."

Posey is still recovering from his injuries. A witness was able to describe the shooter so the sketch could be created.
