Police investigate deadly shooting in Uptown Dallas

One man is dead and Dallas Police are searching for another who may be wounded.

Investigators say the shooting occurred Saturday morning shortly after 2 a.m. in the 2700 block of Howland Street.  It began as an altercation at a convenience store in the Uptown area. Police say 28-year-old Noe Pena pulled out a handgun and pointed it at another man.  Investigators say that man produced his own handgun, and both men shot at each other. Pena was pronounced dead of his injuries at Parkland Hospital. Police say the surviving suspect was also wounded. He was later discovered at an area hospital where he went for treatment of his injuries.
