ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington police shot and killed a woman who they say threatened officers with a gun.
The woman’s husband called police Sunday morning saying she was suicidal. He had left the house after discovering she had taken a gun from a safe.
Officers spotted the 51-year-old woman leaving the house.
“When she got into the SUV and when officers made contact with her, she raised the pistol up and pointed it at one of the officers. And so at that point when you do that, the officers did what they are trained to do and that’s what led to this encounter,” said Lt. Chris Cook with the Arlington Police Department.
The two officers involved are now on leave for a routine investigation.
