Police say a man who was putting gas in his truck was killed by a suspected drunk driver overnight in Garland.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. Thursday eastbound on the George Bush Turnpike near Firewheel Parkway.

State troopers say Samuel Guzman was putting in gas in a truck that was disabled and parked on the right shoulder when a driver in a Cadillac MKS side-swiped the truck and hit him.

Guzman was rushed to Methodist Richardson Medical Center where he later died.  The driver of the Cadillac was not seriously injured.

Police say the driver was most likely under the influence and may face charges of intoxication manslaughter.
