Denton County sheriff's deputies chased a suspect on southbound Interstate 35E into Dallas Monday afternoon.

The chase started in Sanger and ended in just north of Interstate 635. Deputies said the suspect drove another vehicle off the road in Cooke County and was wanted for reckless driving.

“Once the officers approached the vehicle, he took off again. Numerous other agencies were involved,” said Sanger PD Chief Curtis Amyx.

The pursuit reached speeds of about 80 to 90 miles per hour. Even after the suspect's tires were spiked, he was still going about 65 mph. Three sets of spike strips were used during the chase.

When the car finally overheated and came to a stop near the I-35-635 intersection, police quickly approached the car with their guns drawn and K-9s. Officers immediately forced him out of the car and onto the ground.

“Souls Are My Deal” was scrawled across the back windshield of the black sedan.

There was still no suspect name as of Monday afternoon.
