Police chase, arrest teen robbery suspects

Police are investigating an overnight home invasion and robbery.

It happened around 11 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of Avon Street in West Oak Cliff.

Witnesses told police three teens armed with shot guns got away in a white Ford SUV.

Less than an hour later officers later spotted the SUV as they were investigating a call about prowlers. Officers chased the SUV to the 2600 block of West Colorado Boulevard.

Two 16-year-old boys took off running and officers followed. At one point an officer fired shots and missed.

"The officer believed that the suspects were armed based upon their earlier information," said Major Jeff Cotner with the Dallas Police Department.

The teens were eventually caught. One was taken to the hospital after he complained about a medical problem.

In the least, they face charges for evading arrest.

Police also questioned a 14-year-old girl who stayed in the SUV. But they said she is not suspect and is instead being treated as a witness.
