Plano HS baseball player indicted for child sex assault

A Collin County Grand Jury has indicted a once highly-recruited high school baseball pitcher on three counts of child sexual assault.

Zachary Holifield, 18, was 17-years-old when he was arrested in June. A 5-year old girl who attended the home-day-care run by Holifield's mother told investigators he regularly forced her to perform sex acts.

The girl implied he may have forced other children at the day care to do the same.

Holifield's attorney tells FOX4, if convicted he would be eligible for probation immediately because he was a minor when the assaults took place.

Holifield attended Plano Senior High School.
