Plano hospital worker accused of indecency with a child

- A former phlebotomist working at Children’s Medical Center of Plano is accused of having inappropriate contact with children.

Officers arrest 45-year-old Mohammad Ali on Monday. He was charged with three counts of indecency with a child and is being held on a $30,000 bond.

Plano police said the first case was reported on Dec. 29 and two more victims were discovered a short time later. All three of the victims were girls between the ages of 13 and 15. Affidavits indicate he would tell the girls he had to massage their shoulders to help with blood flow.

The second victim, according to the affidavit, had come to the hospital for a sexual assault examination. Ali allegedly began rubbing her arms and then her breast during the blood draw and at one point put her hand on top of his groin.

Ali worked in the hospital’s outpatient laboratory on Preston Road between March and December. He was fired after Children's Medical Center of Plano learned about the allegations.

“We are deeply disappointed and dismayed by this behavior,” said hospital spokesman Scott Summerall in a statement. “The protection and well-being of our patients and their families is our No. 1 concern.”

The hospital said it has cooperated fully with the police and their investigation.

Anyone with information about the incidents or who may have been a victim should call the Plano Police Department Tip Line at 972-941-2148.
