Parts of Dallas North Tollway to close for weekend

Drivers needing to use the Dallas North Tollway in parts of Plano and Frisco should find an alternate route this weekend.

Starting at 11 p.m. Friday, the DNT will start closing some sections in north Plano and south Frisco for the entire weekend. The closures will last through 5 a.m. Monday.

All northbound lanes from Spring Creek Parkway to Headquarters drive and all southbound lanes from Gaylord Parkway to Spring Creek will be closed on the Tollway.

Several exit and entrance ramps will close: the northbound entrance ramp from Spring Creek, northbound exit ramps at Legacy Drive and Headquarters, southbound entrance ramps from Gaylord Parkway, State Highway 121 and Legacy, and southbound exit ramps at Legacy and Spring Creek.

The closure will shut down the connector ramp from east and westbound Sam Rayburn Tollway to the southbound DNT and the ramp from northbound DNT to both directions of the SRT.

The NTTA asks drivers not to pass barriers marking closures. The barriers are in place because construction crews expect debris from the demolition of parts of the Tennyson Parkway bridge to fall on the main DNT lanes.

Service roads along the closed sections of the DNT will remain open.
