Parents warned about attempted Plano child abduction

Plano ISD officials sent out a letter Friday alerting parents of a recent attempted kidnapping.

A 9-year-old boy who attends Daffron Elementary School was walking home from school Thursday afternoon in the 4500 block of Lorimar Drive when a man in a white van pulled up next to him and offered him a ride, the letter says.

The boy refused, and the driver reportedly got out of the van and grabbed the boy.

The boy managed to get away and ran home, and Plano police and the Plano ISD Safety and Security Department were notified.

The letter sent to parents describes the suspect as being bald, white, and of average height with a thin to medium build. He also had a thin black and gray mustache.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Plano Police Department at 972-941-2148.
