Panel discussion focuses on relationship between police, young minorities

With tension high across the country between the black community and police, some North Texas leaders are trying to figure out how to improve things

A panel discussion held Friday included Dallas Mayor and District Attorney Susan Hawk, members of law enforcement clergy and community leaders.

They talked about ways to improve relationships and understanding between police and minority communities.

The panel agreed communication and trust must somehow be established between  police  and the very people who find themselves being stopped by police

The goal of the discussion was to learn what others are doing and see what might work best, but all agreed that there is no easy solution to the current  problem.
