Pair arrested for string of armed robberies at North Texas fast food restaurants

MESQUITE, Texas - Police arrested two men believed to be responsible for a string of restaurant robberies across North Texas.

The suspects – 20-year-old Devundre Ghost from Mesquite and 21-year-old Eraycio Clark from Dallas – are each charged with three counts of aggravated robbery out of Mesquite.

Mesquite police released surveillance video a couple of weeks ago that showed two armed men robbing a Whataburger restaurant on North Galloway Avenue.

It happened around 4 a.m. and the two men were covered in black from head to toe. They were wearing masks, hoodies and gloves.

One of the robbers stayed in the dining room area on the lookout, holding customers at gunpoint. The other went to the back and forced an employee to get money out of a safe.

The two men then took off running. No one was hurt.

Officers investigating three other similar robberies in Mesquite realized they may have been committed by the same suspects. It’s not yet clear what led police to Ghost and Clark or how they were able to identify them.

The duo may also be responsible for robberies at other Whataburger and Jack in the Box restaurants in Terrell, Forney, Irving, Euless, Lancaster and Carrollton. They are suspected in 19 armed robberies in 15 North Texas cities, police said.

Other law enforcement agencies could add additional charges in the days ahead.
