One person killed when car goes over a bridge and into the Trinity River

Fort Worth police are trying to figure out what caused a driver lose control, hit a guardrail, go onto a bridge and into the water.

The car landed in the Trinity River below. It happened just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday on East Loop 820, near Trinity Boulevard on the city's east side.

The first police officers on the scene tried to get the victim out of the water, but that person died. There is no word yet on that person's identity.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating.
