One dead after SUV strikes barrier, flies off I-35W in Fort Worth

One man died after an SUV flipped off a bridge in Fort Worth on Tuesday afternoon.

Fort Worth police said an 18-wheeler going north on I-35W struck a cement median, shoving it into the path of traffic. A black SUV hit the concrete and flipped off the interstate onto a dirt area below.

The male driver was taken to a Fort Worth hospital with serious injuries after the accident and died a few hours later.

I-35W remained closed in both directions near 28th Street through rush hour on Tuesday afternoon for clean-up and an accident investigation.
