Northeast Texas man held on murder charge in girlfriend's child's death

TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) -- A Northeast Texas man has been charged in the death of his girlfriend's 2-year-old son as he watched the child while the mother was at work.
 
Bi-State Jail records show 18-year-old Clifford James Gayton of Texarkana was being held Saturday on a capital murder charge. Jail records do not list an attorney for speak for Gayton, whose bond was set at $2 million.
 
Authorities say Da-Corian Wright was found unresponsive Thursday at an apartment where Gayton was baby-sitting the toddler and the victim's infant sister.
 
Autopsy results have not yet been released.  
 
Texarkana police on Friday arrested Gayton as he tried to hide under a bathroom cabinet in a relative's home.
