North Texas elector getting pressure not to vote for Donald Trump

A North Texas elector says people are bombarding him with demands to not vote for Donald Trump.

Alex Kim is a Texas Republican elector from North Texas and is getting thousands of emails and letters everyday asking him to not vote for Trump.

Kim says it's unprecedented pressure -- but futile in his case.

“I reject the Democratic Party values and I reject Hilary Clinton,” Kim said.

Art Sisneros, a Republican elector from the Houston-area, resigned rather than vote for Donald Trump. Kim says it's not because of outside pressure.

"He's looking at his oath where he's committed to vote for Donald Trump compares to the biblical standards of what the president should be. Art decided he's not able to subscribe to the basic biblical standard Art subscribes to,” Kim said.

Every letter Kim opens punctuates the fact that next month won't be what's usually a routine vote by the electoral college.

"This year is the first time this has swelled to this kind of proportion the actual play of the presidency is in question,” Kim said. "There is this grassroots movement to get electors to sway not only republicans by democrats but democrats pressured to break ranks and not vote for Hillary Clinton."

Electors cast their ballots on Dec. 19.
