North Texans break second-day early vote records
North Texans continue to shattered early voting records. Dallas, Tarrant and Collin counties all reported record-high vote totals for the second-straight day of early voting.
Dallas County said there were 53,657 ballots cast, breaking the 2008 second day record of 35,472. In two days of early voting, 8.74 percent of registered voters in the county have already cast ballots in-person.
Tarrant County had 44,950 votes, breaking 2012’s second-day record of 33,603. 8.18 percent of registered Tarrant voters have cast ballots in-person so far in 2016.
Collin County reported 30,644 votes cast on Tuesday, besting the second-day record of 18,063 in 2012. 11.53 percent of registered voters in Collin County have voted in-person so far.
Early voting in Texas continues through Friday, November 4. Election Day is Tuesday, November 8.
To vote, people have to bring a valid photo with you to the polls. There are seven acceptable forms of ID, including a Texas driver’s license, U.S. Passport or military ID. If you don't have one, then you have to sign a declaration stating and provide some other form of documentation, like a bank statement or a utility bill.
