Mother accused of leaving daughter in dumpster worked at day care

The mother accused of leaving her 7-year-old daughter in a dumpster worked with young children every day until her arrest.

The suspect, Alicia Carroll, was a teacher at Small Miracles Academy.

Surveillance video from Saturday night showed Carroll and her daughter at King Spa in Northwest Dallas.

The business said Carroll left without paying for services.

Sometime after that, Carroll's daughter told police her mother ordered her to hide in a dumpster because police were after them.

Police say the child woke up the next morning, abandoned, and was found wandering around alone and filthy.

Carroll was later arrested, and police say she admitted she had been drinking.

Carroll worked at the day care reportedly until the accusations about her surfaced.

The day care is being tight-lipped, but parents FOX 4 spoke to described her as a very loving and attentive caregiver.
