Illegal immigrant children moved from Ellis to Somerville County

About 200 illegal immigrant children are in their temporary home in Somerville County.

Many of the kids were moved to Camp Arrowhead from another camp in Ellis County.

Lakeview Camp near Waxahachie is scheduled to close this week and the government is still trying to find a family member or sponsor for the kids.

Camp Arrowhead is a Christian camp run by the Church of Nazarene in Somervell County, which is about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

The county’s judge said he had little time to prepare.

“This was just cast on us. We didn’t have a clue this was coming. So people not knowing, of course the great fear is the unknown. The main thing is just to get the details so we can get it out to the people of Somervell County,” Judge Danny Chambers.

There are also hundreds of children who left Central America and other countries on their own at Sabine Creek Ranch in Rockwall. They will be there for another week.
