Police ended a standoff by Tasering a man who led them on a chase with a woman and baby inside his car Wednesday morning.

Pedro Chacon, 25, was arrested for aggravated kidnapping and felony endangerment of a child. Police said the woman is Chacon’s ex-girlfriend and the child is his 2-year old daughter.

No one was hurt in the chase. Police said the woman and child are still traumatized by the events.

Police said Chacon drove to his ex-girlfriend’s workplace in the 12000 block of Shiloh Road in Dallas Wednesday morning, displayed a gun and forced her into his truck. The child was already seated in the back.

Police said communication and quick action allowed them to track and subdue the kidnapping suspect in less than an hour. Dallas Police put out an alert for a possible kidnapper. Arlington Police saw the vehicle and started chasing just after 11 a.m.

Officers chased the vehicle into Grand Prairie, where it stopped at a gas station at I-30 and Belt Line Road. Witnesses said he refused to step out of the car before police Tasered him.

Family members said Chacon was reacting to something that happened earlier in the day and they do not believe he intended to hurt his child or the woman.

“I saw a lot of noise from police officers surrounding him, and they got out of their cars,” gas station manager Said Saad said. “There was a lady in the truck with him. They told the lady to leave.”

Chacon was taken to Lew Sterret Jail. No bond amount has been set.
