Memorial comes down outside DPD headquarters

The memorial outside the Dallas Police Department will be taken down Tuesday.

The department had planned to remove the hundreds of items placed around two squad cars over the weekend. Some of it was packed up before Friday’s storms.

But, the department decided to leave it up a little longer after three officers were killed in Baton Rouge Sunday.

Many of the items left at the memorial will be archived by the Dallas Public Library. Items meant for specific officers will be given to their families.
