Medical City Plano breaks ground on new building

The largest hospital in Collin County is about to get bigger.

Medical City Plano is breaking ground Wednesday on a new patient building. It was long known as the Medical Center of Plano.

The four-story facility in south Plano will have expanded cancer services along with operating and recovering rooms.

About 90 more patient beds will bring the capacity to more than 600.

The $107 million addition should open in the fall of next year.
