Mom arrested for leaving baby in car during eye exam

McKinney police arrested a woman on Wednesday for leaving her child in a hot car while she got an eye exam.

Emergency crews responded to Target parking lot on North Central Expressway after a Good Samaritan called about a baby being locked in a hot car alone around noon. The caller broke the window of the vehicle and got the baby out.

The baby was rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment in an unknown condition.

Officials say the temperature inside the vehicle was at 130 degrees shortly after the baby was removed.

Kimberly Rosario told police she forgot her child was in the vehicle while she was getting an eye exam.

The 27-year-old was arrested and charged with abandoning and endangering a child.

The age of the child hasn't been released.
