McKinney Boyd High athlete hit by car while practicing
McKINNEY - A student at Boyd High School in McKinney was hit by a car Wednesday morning while running for a cross country practice.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. at the corner of Lake Forest Drive and Virginia Parkway.
School officials said the teenage boy was taken by CareFlight to the hospital. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
There are staff members are at the hospital with the family, they said.
Police said the driver did stop to help. They do not expect to file any charges.
