GARLAND, Texas- The NAACP Garland hosted its 29th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade.
The City of Garland Parks and Recreation Department served as grand marshals of the parade. Organizers said many local churches and organizations handmade floats for the event. More than 100 groups participated.
The parade began at 10 AM Saturday on Dairy Road at Garden Drive, near Embree park and ended downtown. Following the parade, the public attended a special commemorative program at the Granville arts Center at 11:45 AM.
