Marshals round up domestic violence suspects

Deputies in Dallas County hit the streets early Monday morning looking for domestic violence suspects.

Teams of officers with the Dallas Marshals went out searching for people with outstanding warrants for family violence. They said it’s challenging because often times the suspect does not live at the location where the offense occurred.

“That’s where the incident happened, though nine times out of ten they don’t live there. So we have good days and some bad days. That’s just the way it is sometimes,” said Deputy Marshal Michael Perez.

Some technology advancements like license plate readers and electronic tickets are making it a little easier for them to find people with outstanding warrants, though.

On Monday, defendants can also voluntarily resolve their case. Those who wish to do so should go to the Dallas Municipal Court on 2014 Main Street. Payments can also be made online at www.courts.dallascityhall.com.
