DENTON, Texas - A man who walked into an elementary school in Denton with a pocketknife in his hand was arrested Monday morning.
Police said it happened around 9:45 a.m. at Tomas Rivera Elementary on Newton Street.
Witnesses said the man appeared paranoid and was waving the knife around, but he did not threaten anyone and he never made it past the school office.
Responding officers took 53-year-old Paul Jackson into custody and charged him with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He may also face other charges.
District officials said the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Jackson is not related to anyone at the school.
