Man shoots attacker outside Arlington apartments

ARLINGTON, Texas - Police are investigating an overnight shooting, but this time it looks like the good guy won.

A man said he was attacked in his car around midnight outside the Pavilion Apartments, which is near Interstate 20 and Matlock Road in Arlington.

He told police a man came up and smashed his windshield with a rock. Then he said he got out and shot the man in the stomach.

The suspect was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, but is expected to survive. He could face assault charges.

Detectives are still trying to determine the motive behind the initial attack.
