Man killed in Cedar Hill hit-and-run crash

Cedar Hill police are searching for the driver in a deadly hit and run crash.

Officers found 33-year-old Eric Sadler lying in the road near U.S. Highway 67 and Cooper Street around 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Police said he had car trouble and pulled over to the side of the road. He was struck by an SUV and the driver did not stop. The impact knocked him into the roadway and he was then hit by multiple other vehicles.

Now, Sadler’s family wants to know why the driver didn’t stop to help the father.

“We just want closure… knowing who did it,” Amanda Sadler, the victim's wife, said. “I believe my husband is in a good place. I believe whoever did it is looking for a good place to be in. The only way they're going to do that is if they come forward. You're never going to be settled until you do. You hit a human being, you took a life. You had to say something to somebody.”

The other motorists did stop to help, police said.

Police are now looking for an SUV with major front-end damage. They're hoping someone will turn the hit-and-run driver in.

A passenger in the man's car was not hurt.
