Fort Worth police arrested Ramiro Almendarez and charged him with aggravated kidnapping.
The girl he's accused of kidnapping told police that in early May, Almendarez approached her as she walked on Wichita Street in southeast Fort Worth. She said that he held her until June 3, when she escaped and walked to Fort Worth Fire Station 22 to get help.
Firefighters called police and checked the girl for injuries.
Police say Almendarez forced the girl to stay with him using threats of violence and a handgun.
They also say Almendarez also changed the girl's appearance to make her look older.
Police say the girl was a runaway from Burleson when she got kidnapped.
Almendarez has also been charged for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Police haven't said if the girl was harmed, but the kidnapping is being investigated by detectives with the Crimes Against Children unit.
