Lost North Texas dog found 4 years later in Las Vegas

A Mesquite dog owner and her pup were reunited at DFW Airport this week after four years of searching and a very strange journey.

Bam Bam, a Shih Tzu, disappeared from Jessica Urbina’s back yard on Easter of 2012. She and her family were at church at the time.

The family put up signs around their Mesquite neighborhood and tirelessly searched for Bam Bam, but they were never able to find him.

They were shocked to get a call from a veterinarian’s office in Las Vegas recently.

“I’m like, ‘I don’t live anywhere near Nevada.’ She’s like, ‘Well, we’re in Las Vegas.’ And I was like, ‘How did he get all the way over there?’ She said, ‘I have no idea, but a Good Samaritan brought him in.’ I’m just so thankful that with the microchipping I was able to get that call,” Urbina said.

The vets office figures someone stole Bam Bam out of Urbina’s back yard and took off.

The dog isn’t just a pet to Urbina. She said he and her late father shared a special bond. Bringing him home is like having a little bit of her father’s memory with her.
