Solar Car Challenge underway at TMS
Engineers and builders of the future are putting their talent to the test with a solar car challenge at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.
High schools from across the country, including 16 from North Texas, are participating in the annual Solar Car Challenge.
The student teams must design, build and finance their own solar cars. The vehicles are raced around the track and the team with the best time after six hours is the winner.Read the full article
Former officer facing second trial for shooting unarmed Mesquite man
A second trial began Monday for the former Mesquite police officer accused of shooting an unarmed man.
Officer Derick Wiley was fired from the Mesquite Police Department after being charged with aggravated assault for shooting of Lyndo Jones twice in the back in 2017.
Wiley had answered a call about a man breaking into a truck. It turned out to be Jones getting high in his own truck.Read the full article
2 injuries reported in pedestrian crash involving bus in Fort Worth
Officers are on scene of a reported auto-pedestrian crash involving a bus in Fort Worth that has injured two people.
Police say the wreck happened at Houston St. and W. 2nd St., just after 7:30 p.m.
There are two reported injuries in the crash, and one is possibly a child.Read the full article
